'cause I got a new gun.
7'0" x 19.25" Allan Gibbons quad semi-gun. Glassed at Moonlight.
Here she is, relaxing in my living room.
The business end.
Here she is, laying out at Moonlight with her yellow 6'10" sister. Fin guru Marlin Bacon of 101 fins took the yellow one, I've got the red one.

Alaia
I decided to give the old alaia a try recently. This alaia started as some laminated pine & wood sealer from Home Depot.
I broke out the old wood burner for this one:
I smeared some wax on it and caught a few little waves riding it prone. It is interesting to try for the drop on a stiff, somewhat heavy plank of wood. It's not so easy to ride it standing yet...

Hey, here's a nice new quad
6'2" x 20" x 2.5". Biofoam. Opaque teal tint & fancy yellow resin work by the Breakroom in PB. Single concave running from under the front foot all the way out the back. Marlin from 101 Fins has a nice new quad template that he's working on that are almost ready.... just waiting for the call and this board will be ready to go. Oh, by the way, this one is for me.

Jim the Genius
9'8" x 19" x 23.25" x 16" x 3.125" Classic Longboard shaped by the Jim "the Genius" Phillips. Tinted volan glass, deck patch, resin pins. Cedar/bass/cedar t band. Redwood & Sugar Pine fin. The redwood was salvaged from wine casks over 100 years old. These pieces of wood are estimated at over approximately 2,000 years old!
I asked for a classic, custom shaped, and Jim delivered. He even had me come in to "assist" in the shaping process, making sure I was happy with everything as he looked through wood for the stringer, fin & tailblock and also when cut the outline—can you ask for any more? I explained the style of surfing, fin templates, colors & concepts that I like and... I definitely found out why they call him "Genius."
